Recently, I took 2 weeks off work. This was my first “long” break since I started, only having taken off a few days for sickness or a long overdue family wedding.

What did I do during that time? Honestly, not a lot. Some of my greater achievements include:

• Re-learning linear algebra
• Going to SF every other day
• Losing 250 CodeForces elo

The word on the street is that the information content of an event is inversely proportional to the probability of it occuring. Does this mean we should try to widen our distribution? I guess that depends on what you want in life. Generally, it seems like the best time to widen’s one distribution is now.

I remember in 2023 I was in Chicago writing my goals down in Mnemosyne B5 journal. In that moment if you asked where I would be in 3 years, I would have put the probability of going down my current path as extremely low. Sometimes I wonder what this says about how I have changed as a person as well as who I am now.
