아래 내용은 서경대학교 GKS 사업단 장학생 대상 보험 안내입니다. The information below is an insurance guide for GKS scholars at Seokyeong University.
After you arrive in Korea, it usually takes about 2–3 months to receive your Alien Registration Card (ARC). Since you cannot enroll in the National Health Insurance (NHI) until your ARC is issued, the Seokyeong University GKS Office will pre-enroll you in a private medical insurance plan to ensure that you are covered during this period. 한국에 입국한 후 외국인등록증(ARC)을 발급받기까지 일반적으로 약 2~3개월이 소요됩니다. 외국인등록증이 발급되기 전에는 국민건강보험(NHI) 가입할 수 없기 때문에, 이 기간 동안 의료보험 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 서경대학교 GKS 사업단에서 민간 의료보험에 사전 가입해 드립니다.
This is based on the official guidelines provided by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED). 이는 국립국제교육원(NIIED)의 공식 지침에 따른 것입니다.
The insurance premium will be paid in advance by the GKS Office and deducted only once from your first month's living allowance. The insurance provides coverage for approximately six months, from August 26, 2026 to February 28, 2027. The premium differs depending on your age, so please check your individual amount below. 보험료는 GKS 사업단에서 먼저 납부한 후 첫 달 생활비에서 1회만 차감됩니다. 보험은 2026년 8월 26일부터 2027년 2월 28일까지 약 6개월간 보장됩니다. 보험료는 연령에 따라 다르므로 아래에서 본인의 보험료를 확인해 주세요.
보험료는 개인의 나이에 따라 다르게 산정됩니다. (오리엔테이션 때 배부한 자료를 참고해 주세요.)

🔹 This insurance covers approximately 80% of hospital and outpatient medical expenses, as well as accidents, illnesses, liability, and more. 해당 보험은 병원 입원 및 외래 진료비의 약 80%를 보장하며, 사고, 질병, 배상책임 등에 대한 보장도 포함됩니다.
🔹 When you visit a hospital or pharmacy, you must pay the expenses yourself first and then submit an insurance claim for reimbursement. 병원이나 약국 이용 시에는 본인이 먼저 비용을 결제한 후 보험금을 청구하여 환급받는 방식입니다.

🔹 Even after you are enrolled in the National Health Insurance (NHI), you may choose to continue your private insurance coverage at your own expense if you wish. 추후 국민건강보험(NHI)에 가입한 이후에도 원하는 경우 본인 부담으로 민간 의료보험을 계속 유지할 수 있습니다.
Once your Alien Registration Card (ARC) is issued, you will be automatically enrolled in the National Health Insurance (NHI). 외국인등록증(ARC)이 발급되면 국민건강보험(NHI)에 자동으로 가입됩니다.
Enrollment in the NHI is mandatory for international students residing in Korea. 국민건강보험 가입은 한국에 거주하는 외국인 유학생에게 의무 사항입니다.
