How this page works. This is your source document. It is richer, messier, and more detailed than anything public. Everything on your live Figma page and your presentation is synthesized from what you build here. Fill this completely before you build either. Structure follows the GENIE loop — the same process you ran across the quarter.

Project name: Overhand

Working tagline: A ring that helps create healthy distance between you and your phone. Our attention is being exploited, so being conscious of our use helps us fight against that.

Internal × external theme: Perception of ourselves and phone’s influence over that

One-line direction (what you are making, who it is for, why): For any phone user, but specifically for Sienna. A gen-z woman, obsessed with her self image online. Hopefully, this technology can be easily implemented into her life to create meaningfully changed habits.

Setting up the thinking partner — 6 Levers

Before any making, you configured the relationship. This is where the partnership was defined. This section lives on your public page — it is the first thing that separates your work from someone who just opened a prompt box.

ABOUT MY PROJECT

My project is about:

UX interaction, perception of self, and quietness of apps.

The tension I identified is:

Social media and its unintentional consequences on behavior, cognitive systems, and control in relation to perception of self.

The person I am designing for (from my midterm — the specific person and moment):

Sienna (23), struggles with anxiety, low self esteem, and impulsive buying from algorithm ads. She hates that she has to use social media but it is one of the only ways to keep in contact with some of her friends. She wants to eventually fix her perception of herself and the feeling of being too seen by lessening her reliance on social media.
