About the App

Gita Kavach is a mindful app blocker for Android and iOS. When you open a blocked app, it redirects you to read a Bhagavad Gita sloka — helping you pause, reflect, and return with intention. All your data stays on your device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Blocking & Permissions

The app isn't blocking anything. What should I check?

Firstly, app blocking works for only Gita Kavach Pro Users. Make sure you have an active subscription.

Secondly, check the following permissions have been enabled in the app based on your device.

On Android, blocking requires two permissions:

  1. Accessibility Service - go to Settings → Accessibility → Gita Kavach and enable it
  2. Display Over Other Apps - go to Settings → Apps → Gita Kavach → Display over other apps and enable it

On iOS, blocking requires Screen Time authorization:

  1. Open Gita Kavach and go to Settings → lock list
  2. Tap Authorize Screen Time and approve the prompt
  3. Then tap Select Apps to Block to choose which apps to shield

I completed my sloka but the app is still blocking. What's wrong?
