About Aina
Aina is a design-led consumer hardware company building a new generation of interfaces for the age of AI. We believe today's computers are still designed for browsing, even as AI becomes capable of understanding context, intent, and acting on our behalf. We're building a general-purpose interface beyond keyboards and touchscreens, designed to make interacting with AI effortless.
For our first year, we operated in stealth as Project Mirage, a Human-Computer Interaction lab exploring how people interact with AI in everyday life. We showcased three experimental interfaces at CES 2026, shipped Duneāa context-aware keypad for Macāto hundreds of early adopters, and used everything we learned to validate our thesis on the future of Human-Computer Interaction.
In July 2026, Aina emerged from stealth with a $5.5 million seed round led by Redstart Labs and 360 ONE Asset to bring its flagship interface to market.
Role Overview
You are being hired to engineer the "Big Bang" for a stealth AI wearable. We have the product ready; we need you to build the US growth engine from scratch. Your goal is to make this the most anticipated AI wearable drop of the year in San Francisco and across the US tech ecosystem.
What You'll Own
- Stealth-to-launch roadmap: Build an invite-only waitlist, run "leak" campaigns that create engineered mystery/FOMO, and design referral systems that reward users for bringing in high-value peers.
- Content factory (vision, not execution): Oversee production of high-hook lo-fi demo videos, cryptic teasers, and technical "unboxing" that look organic but are built to trigger X and LinkedIn algorithms, plus seed organic speculation in Reddit, Discord, and niche AI newsletters.
- Influencer arbitrage: Identify "Alpha" users in US AI - researchers, VCs, podcasters and get the wearable onto their person so it appears naturally in their content pre-launch.
- SF physical takeover: Lead boots-on-the-ground strategy, identify and get into AI hacker houses, VC offices, and invite-only dinners worth penetrating.
- Secret demos & high-touch seeding: Design small, exclusive "Secret Demo" events (show 10 cool people, not 1,000) and personally manage early-unit distribution to SF elite for a world-class, shareable unboxing/first-use experience.
- Brand & team building: Own the US brand voice as a cutting-edge SV startup; hire and manage freelancers, video editors, street teams, event coordinators to execute the vision.
- Speed-driven iteration: Track viral coefficient and waitlist velocity in real time; double down on what works, kill what doesn't within 24 hours.
Requirements
- The Track Record: You have cracked growth hacks for consumer products (ideally hardware or a "cool" D2C or consumer brand) in the US market.
- The Network: You are already plugged into the SF tech scene. You know where the "AI crowd" hangs out and how to get a meeting with the gatekeepers.
