The cards that actually let you bring family into the lounge — and exactly how many guests, domestic and international. Verified against bank T&Cs, June 2026.

I’ve prepared this guide because I saw a real problem - parents fighting with the reception at the lounge checkin counter for letting their kids in. The receptionist is also bound by rules (name on card/boarding pass should match, you can’t allow 2 people on the same card, age wise entry is the norm), so you can not blame them.

So let’s solve it the right way.

First, the thing nobody explains

Lounge access for you is easy. Almost every premium card gives it. The part that quietly ruins family trips is the guest. Your card waves you in, your kid, your parents, or your partner gets stopped at the desk, and now you're paying ₹2,000+ at a domestic lounge or US$35 at an international one, per person, per visit.

There are two ways cards handle guests, and knowing which one you have changes everything.

Model 1 — separate guest bucket. You get unlimited (or large) access for yourself, plus a fixed number of free guest visits on top. Axis Reserve, Burgundy Private, HSBC Premier, Kotak Solitaire all work this way. Your own visits and your guest visits are counted separately, so a guest never eats into your access.

Model 2 — one shared pool. This is how Axis Atlas works, and it's worth understanding because it trips people up. You get a tier-based number of total visits, and every entry burns one — yours or your guest's. Bring one guest and a single lounge trip costs you 2 visits from the pool. Generous if you travel solo, expensive if you always travel as a pair.

The strongest cards for guests

This list follows no preference order honestly. Please read about these cards and how you’re eligible for them. Pick the ones that suit your travel needs + income criteria.

Axis Burgundy Private

12 free guest visits a year at domestic lounges and 12 a year at international lounges, on top of unlimited access for you and your add-on cardholder. Zero forex markup. The catch is who can get it: you need a Burgundy Private relationship with Axis, which means roughly ₹5 crore in total relationship value. If you have it, nothing else competes for family travel.

Axis Reserve — the only thing this card is worth it

12 international guest visits a year via Priority Pass, plus unlimited international access for you and your add-on holder. Domestic is unlimited for you but now gated behind ₹50,000 of spend in the previous 3 months. The best guest card you can get without ultra-HNW banking status.

Yes Bank Marquee — best value

8 guest visits a year drawn from a shared pool, plus unlimited international access for primary and add-on (you swipe the card directly, no separate Priority Pass needed). Joining fee is ₹9,999 and often covered by welcome points in year one. The one condition worth remembering: domestic access needs ₹1 lakh of spend in the previous quarter to stay active.

HSBC Premier — strong if you bank with them

8 international guest visits a year, with unlimited domestic and international access for you. Add-on cardholders don't get the guest visits, so plan around that. Best if you already hold HSBC Premier banking status, since the fee gets waived.
