GC2029 Commencement — Chancellor’s Night (Alumni Homecoming)
Context: Formal commencement for degree recipients + commissioning for incoming cohorts (Oikos Associates Trust House: Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.), marking completion of M1 Interlinear (Greek–English), M2 Modalities for Life, M3 Ancient Hostilities (Unseen World) + CE (Comprehensive Exam) as precursor to the Jun–Dec MA (Theology) term under King’s College Seminary, Singapore.
1) Gathering & Processional (10–15 min)
- Doors open / seating of alumni, families, delegates, Oikos Associates Trust House cohorts, and guests
- Processional: Chancellor, Dr Mike Wieteska, ranking members of the bishop’s charge, faculty representatives, degree recipients
2) Call to Order & Invocation (5 min)
- Opening prayer / scripture reading
- One-sentence framing: “We gather to honor faithful completion and to commission faithful beginning.”
3) Welcome & Occasion Framing (5–7 min)
- Welcome from host / MC
- Brief explanation of the Leviticus 19:23-25 program in the context of the GC2029 pathway and the meaning of “commencement” (end of one stage, beginning of another)
4) Honors & Recognition — Degree Recipients (12–18 min)
- Acknowledge degree recipients (by cohort / track if needed)
- Short statement of what their completion represents: formation, perseverance, doctrine, and service-readiness
- Optional: brief roll-call by nation/house (Singapore, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, etc.)
5) Milestone Confirmation — M1, M2, M3 + CE (8–10 min)
A clear public “threshold statement” over the new cohorts who have completed:
- M1: Interlinear (Greek–English) — fidelity to text; disciplined attention
- M2: Modalities for Life — formation translated into practice; ordered life and responsibility
- M3: Ancient Hostilities (Unseen World) — discernment, sobriety, spiritual intelligence
