HideCut Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 8, 2026

HideCut is a local tool for editing chat screenshots, hiding private information, cropping images, and creating collages. We care about your privacy and aim to keep image processing simple, transparent, and under your control.

1. Data Collection

HideCut does not require an account and does not collect your name, phone number, email address, device identifiers, location, chat content, or screenshot content.

HideCut does not upload your chat screenshots, recognition results, crop areas, redaction areas, or exported images to a server. Image recognition, privacy scanning, redaction, cropping, collage creation, and exporting all happen on your device.

2. Photo Access

When you choose an image, HideCut reads photos, screenshots, and thumbnails from your photo library to create previews and complete editing locally.

When you save an exported image, HideCut uses photo library write access to save the image you explicitly export.

You can adjust or revoke HideCut’s photo access at any time in iOS Settings.

3. Clipboard

When you import an image from the clipboard or copy a processed image to the clipboard, HideCut accesses the image content in the system clipboard.

HideCut does not automatically read clipboard text or other clipboard content, and does not upload clipboard data.

4. Local Settings and Cache

HideCut stores some app settings on your device, such as interface language, redaction style, export options, crop preferences, and onboarding hint status. These settings are used only to improve the app experience.

HideCut may cache a small number of image previews on your device to improve browsing and editing performance. These caches stay inside the app container and are not uploaded to any server. Deleting the app removes these local settings and caches.

5. Export Protection

HideCut removes EXIF and location metadata from exported images by default. Export file names do not include chat partner names.

Please note that automatic recognition and privacy scanning may be affected by screenshot clarity, language, fonts, background, and layout. Before sharing an image, please review it to make sure no sensitive content remains visible.
