This group will bring together young musicians from our parish to provide music for Masses, special parish celebrations, community events, and outreach opportunities. There may be times when a local organization asks for musicians, such as a nursing home, humane society fundraiser, or other parish or community event, and this will be the group we can call upon.

🎶 How It Will Work

We will meet for practice on Thursdays from 6:00–7:00 PM. Our first one will be in the church Thursday, September 10  for the Sunday, September 27 9:00 AM mass. If you would like to participate, but cannot attend the practices, please let me know and I will get music to you, and we will run through the music from 8:30-8:45 AM on September 27. I can also set up a different time to meet with you. We are also practicing for Saturday, October 24th where this group will be leading the entire mass.

There is no requirement to participate in every event. Students and families can choose the opportunities that work best for them.

For example, throughout the year we may:

• Share music for a Saturday evening Mass
• Offer a prelude and a second Communion hymn at a Sunday Mass
• Sing and play for Christmas Eve Mass
• Participate in other special parish Masses and celebrations
• Perform at community outreach events, nursing homes, fundraisers, and other special occasions

❤️ More Than Just Music

Most importantly, this ministry is about drawing closer to God and using the gifts God has given our young people to serve others. It is an opportunity for our students to grow in confidence, develop their musical abilities, become more involved in our parish, and experience the joy of making music together.
