This Privacy Policy explains how HomeTabs (“HomeTabs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the HomeTabs mobile application (the “App”).
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account information: When you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from that provider. If you choose to hide your email through Apple’s private relay, we receive and store the relay address instead of your real one.
- Household information: The name of any household (“home”) you create or join, your role within it (owner, manager, or member), and invite codes you generate or redeem.
- Utility bill data: Information you or another household member submit about utility bills, including the billing company, amount, due date, billing period, category (e.g. electricity, water, gas), and payment status.
- Inspection records: Photos and notes you capture or upload for move-in and move-out property inspections.
- Profile photo: An optional photo you choose to attach to your profile.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Push notification token: A device-specific identifier issued by our push notification provider (OneSignal) so we can deliver notifications about household invites, approvals, membership changes, and new bills.
- Device and diagnostic information: Standard technical information such as device type, operating system version, and app version, collected through our backend and push notification providers for security and troubleshooting purposes.
- Advertising identifiers and ad data: The App displays ads supplied by Google AdMob, which collects advertising identifiers, device and network information, and records of the ads you were shown or tapped. This information is collected by Google rather than by us. Section 10 describes it in full, including your choices.
1.3 Information from the Share Extension
The App includes a share extension that lets you send a bill (as an image, screenshot, or PDF) directly from another app (such as Mail or Messages) into HomeTabs. When you do this, the shared file is processed to extract bill details as described in Section 2.
We do not access your photo library, camera roll, or files except for the specific item you actively choose to share or attach.
