Intro

18 months ago, 1% of Warmly’s inbound came from AI Search. Today it’s 33%.We’ll cover the core motions in their playbook, what they actually did, and how they operationalized this work within a team:

  1. Targeting the right prompts.
  2. Optimizing the existing content.
  3. Building owned content.
  4. Influencing off-site mentions.
  5. And their measurement & iteration cycle.

Let’s dive in.

Let’s say you work for a large enterprise.

AI search engines know about you already; in fact, they’ve been trained on you, the press has written all about you and your new features or product lines, and users are going over how much they love your product on G2 and Trustpilot and how it changed their lives.

I mean, what else do you need to win? Perhaps a nice product landing page.

But what if you work for a growth-stage start-up or an up-and-coming business?

AI search engines don’t know you. In fact, they’ve never heard of you. They have to actively search and find information about you, and if your name is not that well known, they might ask you: ‘’do you mean this other company, or that company in particular?’’

Being recommended for the best solution in your space? Don’t make ChatGPT laugh. Why would they choose you when all of these other companies are out there?

And now imagine that you’re a buyer. You’ve got your budget, your use case, your problems, and a few companies that you’ve heard about. Let’s say you want to get a website visitor de-anonymisation software because you’ve heard how it can identify individuals visiting your website.

You start your search on ChatGPT (similar to all of the other 900 million weekly users of the platform) and try to personalize your prompt to your situation.
