Setup — do this in Week 1

  1. Make your Notion account with your Queens College email, then claim the free Education plan: Settings → Students & educators. Without the school domain you'll hit upload limits mid-semester.
  2. Duplicate My Process Journal. Open it, hit Duplicate, and rename your copy with your name. Everything you write this semester goes in there.
  3. Share your copy back to me. Invite [email protected] and set it to Can comment.
  4. Submit your journal URL using the form in Slack. Once, in Week 1.

The weekly rhythm

Both are due Sunday at 11:59 PM.

Tool Journal, all 14 weeks. Duplicate the weekly entry template, rename it for the week, fill it in. Week 1 has its own audit template instead, with no prompt log, because there is nothing to prompt yet. Before you write, check This Week's Journal Focus, which tells you what to point that entry at and is the page I keep current.

Submissions, Weeks 1–10. Read the brief in Weekly Assignments, then duplicate the submission template and put the work, the prompts and the reflection there.

Section 4 is an ethical flag, not an ethics essay. Some weeks carry a named thread; most don't. On the weeks that don't, flag what you actually noticed, and if nothing did, write that. A blank you can defend is worth more than a concern you invented to fill the box.

What a good entry looks like

One where I can reconstruct your decision-making without having been in the room: the real prompts in the order you tried them, what you expected vs. what came back, at least one thing that didn't work, an ethical flag that names something specific (or honestly reports nothing), and a decision that was yours.

There is a filled-in one to look at: Example Entry — Week 03. An invented student wrote it about a subject nobody here is working on. Take the level of detail from it, not the choices.

Weak entries: final images with no prompts. Prompts with no reflection. "This week I learned a lot about Midjourney." Fourteen entries posted in the last week of the semester.
