It’s friday, 18th september today and im ready for a generational lock in.

I’m pretty behind my ICM class, so im going to be studying every waking hour for the next 3 days until my classes begin again next week, on Tuesday.

I am watching the coding train videos to understand the basics for now- I’ve already covered the intro, how to make shapes, lines and understanding colour.

It’s 10:37 pm- I’ve just completed my Worksheet 1 task 1- worksheet 1 question 1

Did not really understand task 2 so I’m skipping ahead for the time being.

11:07- pm- Oh no, i accidentally rewrote the task 1 with task 3. Oh well….. worksheet 1 task 3

Im contemplating whether to move ahead with variables or finish my self portrait assignment…

I’ll check back in 5 when I’ve made up my mind.

11:24pm- Definitely been more than 5 mins, i have moved ahead and will be coming back to the self portrait assignment later on (hopefully)

I have a question:-

<aside> ❓

If im doing fill(”red”); what if i want to add an opacity argument in there?

</aside>

I dont think its letting me do that- for now what ive done is i removed the “red” altogether and substituted it with fill(255,0,0,50) instead.

But anyway, here’s that exercise — variables mouseX and mouseY exercise

11:41pm — Okay, ive started watching the “define your own variable” tutorial and my biggest question so far is — whats a global variable and why doesn't let circleX=100 work in setup.

11:55 pm — okay done, it was easy to understand — Defining your own variable- ball moving exercise

12:08 am — Now i finally understand wtf x++ meant.

<aside> 💡

Let x=5;

Draw x=x+5 can be subbed in with x+=5 and if x=x+1 then that can be subbed in with x+=1 and that can be further subbed in with x++, same with x-- for x-=1

12:49 am — just did some random function exercises to get more familiar with the concept:

  1. random function exercise 1
  2. random function exercise 2
