• The AP arrow is initially set toward the basket of the team that does NOT gain possession on the opening tip.
• If the game begins with:
  • A foul or violation before either team establishes control,
  • The opposing team will receive the initial alternating possession.
• The arrow then alternates following each applicable AP throw-in situation.
