How does it work?

The new International roaming Day Pack is activated via SMS Opt-In, which makes it easier for both Service Providers and end-users.

1. User arrives as overseas destination

2. Receives welcome message prompting them to activate International Roaming Pack. User can opt-in by sending the appropriate message to 179.

3. User received automated response, confirming status. They can now start roaming in destination country.

Configurations for Service Providers

This new International Roaming service activation method (SMS Opt-In) is activated by default for all mobile service. This means that if a user roams to a country where there is an available Daily Pack (Roaming Plans ), all they will need to do is send and SMS to 179 with the message that identifies to the plan (ROAM5, ROAM10, ROAM3).

However, if the user is roaming to a country where these roaming daily packs are not available (ie. Bolivia), they will need to have the International Roaming feature turned on (this feature is turned OFF by default). There are 2 ways to do this:

1. Sending an SMS The subscriber can send an SMS from their mobile device to 0488822900. They can then just type in a message using natural language (ie. “turn on my roaming” - to activate roaming, “i don’t need roaming anymore” - to turn off, “is my roaming activated?” - to check roaming status). They will then get a response based on their query.
2. The Atomic Portal

• Login to the Atomic portal and go to Services > Mobile.
• Locate the user and click on the Manage button
• Go to the Feature Settings tab
• Scroll down to International Roaming and activate that feature by toggling the switch to ON
