Corvus monedula · Irish: Cág
A small, sharp-eyed crow with pale silvery eyes.
Habitat: Parks, farmland, church towers, chimneys and sea cliffs. | Season: All year
Highly social, often in noisy flocks alongside Rooks; nests colonially in chimneys, ruins and tree holes.
Jackdaws mate for life and are unusually good at reading human body language, even following a person's gaze to work out what they're looking at.
