1. Overview and Scope

This Jaunts Privacy Policy (hereinafter "this Policy") explains how Jaunts may collect, use, retain, share, transfer, protect, delete or otherwise process Personal Data about you in the course of providing the Services. This Policy applies to the Services that explicitly link to this Policy and should be read together with the Terms of Service and any supplemental notices for specific features.

This Policy does not apply to Services provided independently by Travel Suppliers, payment service providers, social login services, map services or other independent third parties. Prior to using those Services, please review their privacy policies. If Jaunts acts as an independent Personal Data user, jointly determines processing purposes, or processes Personal Data on behalf of a particular Travel Supplier for a specific feature, we will provide the relevant explanation prior to enabling that feature.

We process Personal Data in accordance with laws applicable to the relevant processing activities and take the data protection principles of the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (hereinafter "PDPO") as the primary reference framework. Mandatory laws in other jurisdictions may grant users different rights; we will comply with such mandatory provisions to the extent applicable.

2. Personal Data We Collect and Whether Provision Is Mandatory

We collect only the Personal Data necessary to provide, protect and improve the Services. Some Personal Data are required to create an account, generate itineraries or complete booking requests you actively initiate; if you do not provide such Personal Data, the relevant features may not be available to you, although you may continue to use features that do not depend on that Personal Data.

2.1 Travel Companions, Identification Documents and Sensitive Information

Please provide only the information necessary to fulfill your request, and avoid submitting government identification, full passport scans, payment card details, health records or other sensitive information in ordinary chat or non-designated entry points. If a feature legitimately requires additional Personal Data, we will separately indicate in the relevant flow the purpose, recipients, retention arrangements and available safeguards.

If a booking, verification or legal compliance process requires identification or other sensitive Personal Data, we may collect, use, retain and share such Personal Data in the relevant flow and will implement access controls and other reasonable safeguards proportionate to the nature and risk of the Personal Data. We will delete or de-identify such Personal Data to the extent permitted by applicable law, business needs, dispute handling, backup rotation and statutory retention requirements.

2.2 Automated Collection and Approximate Location

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect device model, operating system, browser type, app version, network information, IP address, access times, error logs, session and feature usage information. We may infer approximate country- or city-level location from IP addresses for localization of content, currency or security/risk control; unless you actively grant device permissions for a specific feature, we will not collect precise GPS location. You may revoke location permissions via your device settings; this may affect location-dependent features.

3. How We Use Personal Data

We use Personal Data for the following purposes directly related to the Services:

  1. Creating, authenticating and managing accounts, responding to your requests, and generating, saving, exporting or collaboratively editing travel itineraries;
  2. Prior to your initiating a booking or redirect, transmitting to the relevant Travel Suppliers the Personal Data necessary to complete your request, and providing order-related support;
  3. Maintaining Service security, identifying fraud, abuse, anomalous access, technical failures and breaches of the Terms of Service;
  4. Sending service-essential communications such as account verification, travel/order status, security alerts and policy updates;
