This is an effort and work in progress to serve those coming behind me. I, in fact, haven’t gotten a job yet so take it with a grain of salt.

General Stuff

If you are religious, begin with prayer and ask God for wisdom. See James 1.

“Something something Rocketship don’t ask which seat” - Phil Chen

Only apply for jobs you’re unqualified for - Kevin Kelly

Informational Interviews

You must write thank you notes. Don’t listen to anyone else… just do it. Write a note, put it in an envelope, write your address in the upper left, put a stamp on it, write their name, take a picture and then shoot it to them in a text saying, “What’s a good mailing address for you? I’d like to send a note.”

Book Ranking

There are a lot of books out there about the job search. Here’s my ranking - you can get something out of each, but start at the top and realize that there will be diminishing returns as you go down the list.

  1. Never Search Alone
  2. The 2 Hour Job Search
