In this message from James 3:13–18, we learn the difference between worldly wisdom and Godly wisdom. Worldly wisdom is driven by jealousy, selfish ambition, and chaos. Godly wisdom shows up through humility, peace, mercy, and good fruit. Real wisdom is not just knowing the right things—it is living them out. This message invites us to ask God for wisdom, choose wise influences, and become people who bring peace wherever we go.
Scripture:
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life.” — James 3:13
Devotional:
It is good to know the Bible. It is good to come to church, listen to sermons, and learn truth. But James reminds us that real wisdom is not just about what we know. Real wisdom shows up in how we live.
A Pentecostal follower of Jesus should hunger for the Holy Spirit, but we also need emotional and spiritual health. That means our words, attitudes, choices, and relationships should look more like Jesus over time.
Spiritual health is not just praying loudly or worshiping with passion. Those things are beautiful, but they must be connected to a life of humility, love, and obedience. The Holy Spirit wants to shape our character, not just give us powerful moments.
Think About It:
Is my life showing the wisdom of God, or am I only learning more information?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, help me live what I know. Teach me to follow Jesus in my words, choices, and relationships. Make me wise from the inside out. Amen.
Today’s Practice:
Before you speak or make a decision today, pause and ask, “Does this look like Jesus?”
