Brainstorming & Idea Dump Session
- Context & Cultural Reality: Kerala and several aging regions have an unprecedented proportion of senior citizens living alone while their children work abroad (Gulf NRIs) or in tech hubs (Bengaluru, Hyderabad).
- The Smart Home Fallacy: Most high-tech solutions (wearable watches, smart speakers, smartphone apps) fail because elders forget to charge them, don't understand English accents, find touch screens intimidating, or lack stable Wi-Fi.
- The IVR Breakthrough: Every single elder knows how to answer a regular ringing phone call and press
1 or 2 on the dial pad. Telephony (Exotel) bridges the digital divide with native language (Malayalam) voice prompts.
- Community First (Tiered Response): When an elder doesn't answer or presses "Need Help", calling an NRI child 3,000 miles away in Dubai won't save them in the first 10 minutes. The system must automatically escalate to verified next-door neighbors (key holders) and local doctors within minutes.
Criticisms
- what if they install siri or alexa??
- what if someone else does the check-ins for the intended people?
- What do our target users currently struggle with?
- Why would they choose koode over existing apps or built-in phone assistants?
- What should happen if a check-in is missed?
