1. Problem
What are we solving for our users and customers?
- Communication & Reporting Blackout: Reliance on non-specialized tools. Photo/video updates are rare, forcing the owner into daily site visits and ongoing stress.
- Material Pain — Quality & Specification Asymmetry: Lack of transparency about material selection, specifications, and installation, leading to aesthetic and structural flaws discovered too late.
- Lack of Validation Authority: the owner's anxiety isn't just "not seeing the progress" — it's having no formal way to confirm that a stage has actually been completed before the money moves forward.
2. Solution
How do we address our users' needs?
- Wedge — Structured Visual Log + Milestone Validation: The 2nd round of interviews shows that the Visual Log and Milestone Validation, tested separately in v3, work better described as a single value chain: visual evidence → formal validation → payment release decision.
- Post-Wedge — Interoperability Protocol (WhatsApp / Excel): WhatsApp and Excel are no longer seen as competitors to be replaced, but are instead treated as allied systems, with an integration protocol to be built at a later stage, to reduce data-entry friction. Not part of the validated wedge — a feature to explore after the MVP.
- Post-Wedge — Transparent Materials & Specifications Hub: Database of validated specifications before the project starts.
- To be validated — Structured, Permanent History: unlike WhatsApp/Excel, the record of progress, validations, and planning would stay organized and permanent, with no risk of being lost over time (past/present/planned, all queryable).
3. Unique Value Proposition
What makes our idea unique and different?
- The Proven Proposition: the client knows exactly where their renovation stands — and can confirm, remotely, that each stage was completed before their money moves forward.
- High-Level Concept (to be validated): Uber-Style Progress Visibility as the entry point into a broader renovation management ecosystem (materials + payments).
4. Unfair Advantage
What do we have that others cannot easily replicate?
- Record-keeping and validation as an advantage (defensible, tested): confirms that none of the real alternatives this segment uses today (WhatsApp, Excel, in-person visits) links visual evidence to a formal payment decision. This is the core advantage and the only one already supported by evidence from sessions.
