Lumen finds the people you care about in your own photo library. It is built to work entirely on your device.

The short version

We don’t collect anything. Lumen has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Your photos, your faces, and everything Lumen learns from them never leave your phone.

What Lumen accesses

• Your photos. With your permission, Lumen reads images from your device’s photo library so it can detect and match faces. You choose whether to grant access to all photos or only selected ones, and you can change or revoke this at any time in Android Settings.
• Notifications. Only to show indexing progress while a scan runs in the background.

What Lumen stores (on your device only)

• Face detections and mathematical face signatures (embeddings) computed from your photos
• Small face thumbnails, names you type when enrolling a person, and match results
• App preferences, such as your match sensitivity setting

All of this lives in Lumen’s private app storage on your phone. It is never uploaded, shared, or backed up to us.

Face recognition happens offline

Face detection and recognition run locally using AI models bundled inside the app. No photo, face image, or face embedding is ever sent over the internet. Lumen makes no network requests to analyse your photos.

Purchases

Lumen offers a one-time Pro upgrade through Google Play Billing. That transaction is handled entirely by Google — we never see or store your payment details. Lumen only records a local flag that says whether Pro is active. Google’s handling of purchase data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

The app requests internet access solely so Google Play Billing can verify your purchase.

Third parties

None. Lumen contains no advertising, tracking, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
