MILES NOW — Privacy Policy & Terms

MILES NOW is a personal mileage-tracking app built on a local-first philosophy: your driving data lives on your device and in your own private iCloud. We (the developer) do not operate servers that collect or receive your trips, locations, or photos.

1. Privacy Policy

What the app processes, and why

• Location — Automatically detects drives and records routes, distances, and start/end points. Processed on your device. With your permission it uses location in the background so drives are captured without manual start/stop. Coordinates are sent to Apple only to convert them into street addresses (reverse geocoding).
• Motion & Fitness — Helps detect when a drive begins and ends, improving accuracy and saving battery. Processed on-device.
• Bluetooth — Checks whether your device is connected to a car audio system to decide when to start tracking. It reads connection status only and does not record or access audio.
• Photos — Only when you choose to attach a receipt photo to a drive. The app accesses the image you select; it does not scan or upload your photo library.
• Notifications — Local notifications (e.g., "drive recorded," parking saved), delivered on-device.
• Driver details for reports — You may optionally enter a name and email to appear on exported mileage reports. This is stored on your device (and your iCloud, if sync is on) for your own reports and is never transmitted to us.

Where your data is stored

• On your device. Trips, vehicles, locations, routes, and settings are stored locally.
• In your private iCloud (optional). If you enable iCloud sync, this data is synchronized across your Apple devices (for example, to view drives on Mac) using Apple's iCloud. It is stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's terms and encryption. The developer does not operate this storage and cannot access your iCloud data. You can turn sync off at any time.

Subscriptions and payments

MILES NOW Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple. Purchases are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider. To manage your entitlement, RevenueCat receives purchase/receipt information and an anonymous, app-generated identifier. Apple handles payment; we never see your name, email, or card details through this process.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or share your data.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics/tracking.
• We do not require an account or login.
