MTCP (Mini Thermal Cat Printer), Android package com.morales.mtcp, is developed by Andrés Morales Gil. It is an offline app for composing receipts and sending them to a compatible Bluetooth thermal printer.
MTCP processes the text, symbols, QR code and barcode contents you enter, their formatting, and the printer settings you choose. Your current draft and settings are saved in the app's private storage on your Android device. Undo history is kept in memory. A successful-print count and a flag recording whether the optional coffee invitation has appeared are also stored locally; they are not transmitted.
During a printer scan or connection, MTCP uses nearby Bluetooth device names and addresses, advertised services, and printer responses such as firmware, battery and error information. This information is used to find compatible printers, connect, and complete your requested print.
MTCP has no Internet permission, account system, ads, analytics, remote crash reporting or tracking SDKs. The app does not upload your drafts, printer information or usage history to the developer or to a server. Fonts, icons and code generation work locally.
On Android 12 and later, MTCP requests Nearby devices permissions to scan for and connect to Bluetooth printers. Scanning is declared as not being used to derive physical location.
On Android 8–11, Android requires location permission for Bluetooth Low Energy discovery. MTCP uses that permission only to discover printers; it does not obtain GPS coordinates or create location histories. Android may also require Location services to be enabled for discovery.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in Android Settings. Printer discovery or printing may then be unavailable.
When you press Print, MTCP sends the rendered receipt and print commands directly over Bluetooth to the printer you selected. This is the transfer you request, and its contents can include personal information you put in the receipt or code. The printer and the physical printout are under your control. MTCP cannot control a printer manufacturer's firmware or its handling of data.
Technical diagnostic logs are kept in memory and may include device details, Bluetooth status, printer responses and error messages. MTCP does not send logs automatically. If you choose Copy error log, the log is copied to your Android clipboard. Review it before sharing it with anyone. Clipboard handling is controlled by Android and other apps you use.
The app does not sell data or disclose it for advertising. If you contact the developer outside the app, the information you voluntarily provide is handled through that communication service and used to respond to your inquiry.
Drafts and settings are stored in app-private Android storage. MTCP disables app backup and device-transfer backup in its Android configuration. Device security depends on Android, your device settings and who can access your device; Bluetooth security also depends on Android and your printer. MTCP does not promise encryption unsupported by the printer.
Your saved draft and settings remain until you change them, clear MTCP's storage in Android Settings, or uninstall MTCP. In-memory undo history and diagnostic logs are not retained across app process restarts. Deleting data from MTCP does not delete paper receipts or copies you shared elsewhere.
There are no MTCP accounts or server-side user profiles to delete.
