Making Rewars less transactional and More collaborative

Objective :

This is a time problem (Duration: 48 hours)

A comprehensive product design challenge focused on reimagining how rewards can drive social participation, timely engagement, and repeat interaction within a food delivery app. Leveraging user research, competitive analysis, and rapid concept exploration, the objective was to identify key behavioural friction in existing reward and referral systems and design a collaborative experience aligned with both user motivation and product engagement goals.

Given Problem :

Most Voucher, discount and referral experiences feel transactional. Users see an offer, claim it, or share a code. The experience often lacks excitement, social motivation, and a sense of urgency. Normal Reward listings and referral flows often feel passive and foregttable. They don’t create motivation, social Pull. or a reason to come back.

How might we design an experience where users feel motivated to invite friends, track progress, and return to complete a shared reward goal?

Project Brief

Opportunity : Create a product-first reward experience that makes rewards social, time-sensitive and worth sharing.

My interpretation : This wasn’t about a referral screen exercise and had to be treated as a Systems Problem like what has to happen between “I found a reward” and “My group successfully earned it ?”
