Juthour–Mashjar Juthour Partnership Charter
Guiding Principles for Cooperation Agreement
Purpose
This Charter translates the cooperation agreement's three core purposes into actionable decision-making principles for the Juthour project and the joint-venture ecological and education center, Mashjar Juthour, within the nature preserve.
Agreement Purpose:
- Implement and operate Mashjar Juthour as an educational, environmental, and sustainable non-profit garden
- Contribute to a culture of environmental awareness and education among the local community, schools, universities, and visitors
- Preserve local trees and plants, enhance environmental belonging and Palestinian identity, and increase regenerative practices of planting and greenery
Article I: Educational, Environmental, and Sustainable Non-Profit Garden
What This Means:
Juthour operates as a garden where people learn directly from nature, where all practices protect the environment, and where financial sustainability serves the mission rather than profit.
In Practice:
Educational Garden
- The land itself is the teacher—visitors learn through direct experience
- Programs focus on hands-on participation, observation, and connection
- Educational content comes from what's actually growing and living on-site
Environmental Garden
- All operations protect ecosystem health
