About the Role
We are building the next-generation Global Satellite Constellation for highly precise and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Lead to lead the thermal, structural, vibration, and mechanical analysis of our PNT payload, while ensuring the mechanical integrity of the integrated satellite through AIT and launch. The role will also involve participating in the satellite-level structural and environmental analyses, launch vehicle loads and requirements, and payload–satellite integration. As we develop our own satellite platform, this role will grow into the overall mechanical lead for the spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead thermal analysis and thermal modelling of the PNT payload, including detailed analysis of temperature-sensitive components and maintaining required thermal limits across mission environments.
- Perform and review structural and mechanical simulations, including static, modal, random vibration, shock, and launch-load analysis for the PNT payload.
- Lead thermal-vacuum and mechanical environmental qualification of the payload and evaluate test results against analysis.
- Own the mechanical analysis and verification of the payload through different mission environments, including launch, orbit, eclipse, and operational conditions.
- Review payload and satellite CAD designs, mechanical drawings, interfaces, and structural configurations, working with CAD/design engineers to ensure analysis requirements are met.
- Review the mechanical aspects of satellite AIT and payload integration, including alignment, structural integrity, handling, assembly, and testing.
- Review launch vehicle environments and mechanical requirements and ensure the integrated payload–satellite configuration is compliant.
- Work closely with payload, satellite, AIT, thermal, systems, and manufacturing teams to identify and close mechanical risks.
- As the satellite platform evolves, take ownership of the complete spacecraft mechanical analysis and engineering, from architecture and design through qualification and flight readiness.
