Summary

Meet Recorder saves recordings and transcripts of your Google Meet calls directly to your own computer. Nothing is uploaded to Techmaaxx or anyone else. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data.

What the extension handles, and where it stays

Meeting audio and video. When you record, the extension captures the Google Meet tab and your microphone and saves the recording as a file in your Downloads folder. It is processed only on your computer.

Live captions. If transcripts are turned on, the extension reads the captions that Google Meet displays on screen and saves them as a text file next to the recording. Captions are produced by Google Meet, not by us.

Settings. Your preferences (for example video quality or your display name in transcripts) are stored in your browser's local extension storage.

The extension makes no network requests to any server operated by Techmaaxx or third parties, uses no analytics or tracking, and contains no advertising.

Permissions

The extension only runs on meet.google.com. It uses browser permissions to capture the meeting tab, use your microphone, save files to your Downloads folder, show notifications, and remember your settings.

Your responsibilities when recording

Laws in many countries, including Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), require that people are informed before they are recorded. You are responsible for telling meeting participants that you are recording and obtaining any consent required.

Deleting your data

Recordings and transcripts are ordinary files on your computer; delete them like any other file. Removing the extension deletes its stored settings.
