Portfolio: Public Notion PM Portfolio

A wellbeing-first digital campus platform for 1.8B Gen Z students globally — mental health as the substrate every other layer (community, mentorship, opportunity) is built to support, not a bolt-on feature.

Problem

60–70% of university students globally show moderate-to-high anxiety; 75%+ needing mental-health care receive none; existing campus tools are crisis-reactive, never preventive, and digital-first apps largely exclude non-English-speaking majorities. Nothing measures pre-crisis distress continuously — competitors are either chatbots (Wysa), consumer wellness apps (Headspace/Calm), or therapist marketplaces (BetterHelp/Talkspace); none fuse behavioral + self-report + clinical signal into a campus-native score. TAM $28B (1.8B students) · SAM $5.2B (~300M smartphone-enabled students) · SOM $120M (5M users by Y3).

Approach & Framework

Built the product around one hero asset — the MH&W Score, a proprietary 0–10 continuous wellbeing signal fused from four weighted inputs and reviewed quarterly by clinical advisors:

Signal Weight Source
Mood Tracker 35% Direct self-report (emoji/slider)
Content & Reactions 25% Implicit sentiment on engaged content
Behavioral Patterns 25% Session timing, scroll velocity, anomalies
Self-Assessment (PHQ-9) 15% Opt-in, clinically validated, monthly

This is a structural moat, not a feature — no competitor measures it, and every interaction compounds it (Year 1: 2 weeks of rule-based signal → Year 2: 50+ weeks of labelled, multilingual outcomes a new entrant needs 12+ months to reproduce).

8 integrated layers, only two of which are "core": Verified Peer Community, Career Knowledge Graph, Alumni Mentorship, Skill Discovery & Jobs, MH&W Score & Check-ins (core), Counsellor Dashboard/B2B (core), Multilingual-First ML Feed (F1 >0.82 across 50+ languages), Global Privacy-Native architecture (GDPR/FERPA, 3 identity layers, 30-day deletion SLA).

PMF discipline — five quantitative gates before any horizontal scaling (D7 retention ≥40%, comment-to-view ≥8%, WhatsApp/social referral share ≥25%, mood check-in DAU ≥30%, counsellor pilot signed ≥2 universities), plus three qualitative signals (Sean Ellis test ≥40%, cohort curve flattening, "pull not push" inbound demand).
