Writer • Editor • Research-led Features • Long-form Writing • Books & Culture

I am a writer and editor with an academic background in English Literature, working across long-form digital writing, research-led features, culture, education and public affairs. I am particularly interested in the sort of prose that possesses both intelligence and personality: writing which informs without lecturing, persuades without shouting, and remembers that even the most practical subject need not be dull merely because somebody has called it “content.”

Blog

My work wanders rather happily between books and literary culture, education, policy, social questions and the more curious corners of contemporary life. I write long-form articles, digital features, blogs, research-led pieces and editorial content, and I am comfortable beginning with a subject I do not yet know intimately, disappearing into the research for a while, and returning with something a reader can actually understand and enjoy. I also edit existing copy for clarity, structure, accuracy and tone and, where it has gone rather badly astray, its general rescue from the wilderness.
