Kune is an experimental arts and music festival rooted in its island landscape, a gathering place built on radical participation, ecological attentiveness, and the conviction that art can hold urgent questions with joy and openness. Each edition seeks to dissolve the line between audience and participant, turning the festival itself into a living, shifting artwork.
The 2027 edition takes play in emergency as its animating question. Not play as distraction, but play as a means of entry, of dismantling distance, of making space for the audience to think, act, and feel differently. Play can be confrontational, poetic, absurd, embodied, or critical. It can fold the audience into the work as co-creators. It can glitch and misfire. It can be trusted or doubted.
Activities at Kune are a part of the art program that creates opportunities for collective reflection, exploration or a personal experience while being in a group. We aim to create an occasion for skill and passion sharing with no set expectation, a free flow of creativity and self-exploration within a guided experience. What makes it special for the festival is the chance for the moment of stillness, community and connection on the island, where everything feels intimate and deep.
During the 5 festival days, there is a need for restorative spaces for body and mind, at the same time, the curiosity and openness of our guests to learn, meet, explore and play together. For that, we are opening a call for creatives, hosts and guides who can become a part of everyone’s journey through Kune.
We are not looking for applications seeking publicity or advertising. The emphasis should be on how it will be experienced by the audience and why it matters for the audience to experience the proposed. We are looking for practices and experiences that resonate with the site, guests and explore what we can achieve and uncover when led by the process. Proposals may be for group or individual participation, based in a craft, artistic practice, movement, sensory experience and other. The process will be carefully curated by the chosen hosts and artists together with the activity coordinator of Kune festival.
For selected proposals we offer:
