1. Overview
PriceShelf is a Chrome extension that lets you save products, organize your shopping shelf, preserve original prices, compare offers, and track later price and availability changes.
PriceShelf has no user accounts, cloud synchronization, advertising, developer analytics or telemetry, artificial intelligence, or developer-operated database. Your shelf is stored locally in Chrome on your device.
Local storage does not mean that no information is ever transmitted. If you allow a retailer price check, PriceShelf requests the saved product page directly from that retailer. If you contact support, the publisher receives the information you choose to send. These activities are explained below.
2. Information PriceShelf handles
PriceShelf handles product-page information and information you enter only to provide its product-saving, organization, comparison, price-checking, alert, and backup features.
Depending on the information available and the features you use, local records may include:
- An internal product record identifier.
- Product title, saved URL, retailer domain, category, and custom categories.
- Product identifiers, such as SKU, GTIN, MPN, or equivalent values.
- Selected variant, seller, condition, pack quantity, and exact-offer lock settings.
- Currency, original saved price, latest checked or manually entered price, and availability.
- Bounded price and availability histories, observation timestamps, evidence sources, and confidence information.
- Save and update timestamps, check status, and error messages.
- Notes, priority, watching status, and purchased or archived status.
- User-assigned comparison groups.
- Alert rules, armed state, snooze settings, notification timestamps, and local alert-inbox events.
- Per-retailer recurring-check preferences.
- Shelf search text, filters, sorting, pagination, and filter-panel preferences.
- Update-job progress, the latest per-product update report, internal records that prevent duplicate processing, and a bounded organization Undo record.
