1. OVERVIEW

PriceShelf is a Chrome extension that lets users save products, organize them into categories, record their original price, and compare that price with later retailer prices.

PriceShelf has no user accounts, cloud synchronization, advertising, analytics, artificial intelligence, or developer-operated database. Your saved shelf and categories are stored locally by Chrome on your device.

PriceShelf handles product-page content and saved page addresses only as necessary to provide its visible product-saving and price-comparison features.

1. INFORMATION HANDLED BY PRICESHELF

When you save a product, PriceShelf may handle and store:

• A randomly generated record identifier • Product title • Saved product URL and retailer domain • Category and custom categories • Selected product variant • Product identifier, such as a SKU, GTIN, MPN, or equivalent value when available • Currency • Original saved price • Latest detected or manually entered price • Date and time the product was saved • Date and time of price-check attempts • Price-update status and error messages

PriceShelf does not require, download, or store product images.

When preparing a product for saving, PriceShelf may temporarily read relevant information from the active page, including product titles, visible or structured prices, currency, canonical URLs, selected options, product identifiers, categories, breadcrumbs, descriptions, page paths, and language or locale information. Some of this contextual information is used only to improve deterministic product detection and is not saved.

Users can review and correct the detected title, price, currency, category, and variant before saving.

PriceShelf is not designed to collect names, email addresses, payment details, health information, authentication credentials, private communications, or precise location information.

1. WHEN PRICESHELF READS A PAGE

PriceShelf reads the active page only after the user:

• Opens PriceShelf from the Chrome toolbar; or • Selects “Save product to PriceShelf” from the right-click menu.

The page information is used to prepare a product review form. Nothing is added to the saved shelf until the user confirms the save.

PriceShelf is intended for publicly accessible product pages. Users should not save URLs containing private access tokens, passwords, or other confidential information.

1. OPTIONAL RETAILER ACCESS AND PRICE CHECKS

When saving a product or later requesting a price update, PriceShelf may ask Chrome for optional access to that retailer’s origin.

This permission is requested per retailer. It is not automatically granted for every website when PriceShelf is installed. Users can decline the request and continue using PriceShelf with manually entered prices. Permission can also be removed later through Chrome’s extension settings.
