Pantry Chef — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Pantry Chef ("we", "us", "the app") handles information when you use the mobile application. We've designed Pantry Chef to collect as little as possible: only what's needed to give you an account, unlock your subscription, and generate recipes.

TL;DR

• We collect your email address (or Apple relay email) so you have an account.
• We store your subscription state so you can access the app across devices and after reinstalling.
• Your recipes, cooking history, and preferences live only on your device.
• Photos you take are sent to an AI service to identify ingredients, then discarded.
• Recipe text and dish names are sent to AI services to generate recipes and images.
• We don't show ads. We don't sell data. We don't track you across apps or websites.

1. Information we collect

To provide the app's core features, we collect:

• Email address — either the address you provide during signup, or an Apple ID relay address if you use Sign in with Apple, or your Google account email if you use Sign in with Google.
• Authentication provider identifier — an opaque user ID from Apple, Google, or our own database (so we can recognize you across sessions and devices).
• Subscription state — whether you are in a free trial, active subscription, cancelled, or expired. This is updated by Apple's servers when you subscribe, renew, or cancel.

The app uses your camera and photo library only when you actively tap "Take a Photo" or "Choose from Library" to scan ingredients. These permissions are governed by iOS — you can revoke them at any time in iOS Settings.
