Perina Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026. This Privacy Policy is provided by Perina. For privacy questions, see the contact section below.

In short. Perina is an on-device word album. Photos you snap, OCR results, vocabulary cards, voice notes, and your field log are stored locally on your iPhone. You can blank the shelf from Settings at any time.

1. Scope

This Policy explains what data Perina processes, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Perina iOS application and related pages we host for Terms, Privacy, and Technical Support.

2. Data we process

Album content you create — Photos of signs/menus/labels, OCR text, word cards, sets, field log entries, optional pronunciation audio, nickname / avatar you set. Stored on your device. Purpose: provide the Snap → Develop → Review experience.

Local session data — A device-local login stamp and related preferences so you can reopen your album. Stored on your device. Purpose: keep your album session available after launch.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT) — If you allow tracking, Perina may use the device’s advertising identifier (such as IDFA) to measure how you discovered the app. If you choose Ask App Not to Track or later revoke permission in iOS Settings, Perina will not use that identifier for tracking. Purpose: understand which channels help people find the word album. The album’s Snap, Develop, and Review features do not require ATT permission.

Support messages — Email address and the content of messages you send to support. Stored in our support inbox. Purpose: respond to your request.

We do not require you to submit your real name, government ID, or payment card details to use the album. Camera, Photo Library, Microphone, and ATT access are requested only when needed for the stated feature, and you can refuse.

3. How we use data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your album photos to train public generative AI models.

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your region, we rely on one or more of: performance of a contract (providing the App you requested), your consent (for device permissions you grant, including ATT when shown), and legitimate interests (responding to support and securing the product) balanced against your rights.
