What Perina does

1. Snap — Photograph a word or short phrase on a sign, menu, label, or notebook, or import a photo from your library.
2. Develop — Perina runs on-device OCR and lifts candidate words into study cards on this phone.
3. Review — Flip cards in your sets, keep a field log, and optionally record a short pronunciation note.

Album pages stay on your device. Putting the album away or leaving the App does not clear them. Only Blank the shelf permanently clears local album data.

Common questions

Camera, Photos, Microphone, or Tracking is denied

• Open iOS Settings → Perina and enable the permission you need.
• Camera / Photos: required to snap or import source images for new cards.
• Microphone: only needed for optional pronunciation notes on a card.
• Tracking (ATT): optional. Used only to measure how you discovered Perina. You can keep using the album if you choose Ask App Not to Track.
• You can keep reviewing existing cards without granting new permissions.

OCR missed the word or picked the wrong language

• Retake the photo with sharper focus and higher contrast text.
