Poopendar only asks for permissions when a feature needs them. Declining optional permissions doesn't affect basic logging.
Location
Purpose: get your approximate location once when you save an entry, so it can appear on the map.
- System permission: While Using the App
- Saved: latitude, longitude, accuracy and time
- No continuous background tracking
- Turn it off in "Settings → Log Location" and revoke access in system Settings
Apple Health
Purpose: after you grant access, read or write the supported health categories to show your personal trends and keep records in sync.
- Poopendar's basic features work without it
- Color, odor, notes and precise location are never written to Apple Health
- Manage it in "Settings → Apple Health" or in Health permissions in system Settings
iCloud / CloudKit
Purpose: sync your SwiftData entries through your own iCloud account, and create an iCloud Drive backup if you turn it on.
- Your private CloudKit database is visible only to your iCloud account
- The iCloud Drive backup can be viewed in the Files app
- Without a connection, data is saved on your device first
Notifications and Background
The app uses remote notification background capability to respond to CloudKit data changes. We don't send marketing notifications.
