Placefold is a personal app for saving places, keeping thoughts and photos, and arranging memories into scrapbooks. You do not need to create a Placefold account.
Your saved places, coordinates, addresses, reasons for saving places, tags, memory dates, thoughts, photo copies, stickers, scrapbook details, and unfinished drafts are stored on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or stores this personal library. We do not send your thoughts, library photos, or scrapbook contents to RevenueCat.
Placefold creates optimized copies of photos you select or capture. Photo copies may retain metadata from the source image. Do not assume that all photo metadata has been removed.
Placefold uses Apple’s mapping and place-search services. When you search for a place, request an address for a map position, or display a map, Apple processes information needed to provide that service, including relevant search text, map coordinates and technical connection information. Choosing Open in Apple Maps passes the selected place to Apple Maps.
If you allow location access, Placefold uses your location only while the app is in use: to center the map, find places near you, and suggest nearby saved places when you make a sticker. Your location is not stored on device unless you save a place. Placefold does not track your movements or request background location access. A place’s visited status is based on the memories you save for it.

Camera access is requested when you choose to take a photo. The system photo picker lets you choose specific photos without granting Placefold general access to browse your photo library.
If Save Captures to Photos is enabled, Placefold requests permission to add full-resolution camera captures to your Photos library. You can turn this option off in Placefold Settings. Declining permission does not prevent Placefold from keeping its own optimized capture.
When you choose to share, copy or save a photo, sticker or scrapbook export, the destination you select receives that copy and handles it under its own practices. Copied stickers are placed on the system clipboard, where apps you paste into can read them. Copies in Photos, shared destinations, or device backups are separate from Placefold’s library.
You can change camera and Photos permissions in your device’s Settings.
Stickers are made on your device. Placefold uses Apple's on-device image processing to cut a subject out of a photo, or to crop a scanned paper item such as a ticket. These images are not uploaded to us or to RevenueCat.
Apple processes in-app payments. We do not receive your payment-card number or your Apple Account password.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, determine Pro access, restore eligible purchases, present subscription offers, and understand subscription performance. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription records, such as product and transaction identifiers, purchase and expiration dates, and subscription status. RevenueCat also processes a random RevenueCat-generated anonymous App User ID that Placefold does not associate with your identity. Paywall interactions may be processed to measure how subscription offers perform.
