College students already discover internships and jobs through LinkedIn, placement portals, company websites, referrals and other platforms. The more interesting problem may arise after discovery. Students managing multiple applications, assessments and interviews have limited preparation time and may struggle to decide which opportunity, skill or task deserves attention first.
They may need to decide:
which opportunity requires immediate attention which JD requirements are actually critical which skill gaps recur across several target roles whether to apply immediately or prepare first how much preparation effort each opportunity deserves how to divide limited preparation time across competing opportunities
Because of this, students may spend time on low-value preparation while more urgent or higher-leverage actions receive less attention.
PlacementOS will initially focus on 3rd and 4th-year college students who are actively managing multiple internship or entry-level job opportunities, assessments or interviews and have limited preparation time.
We believe that if students can view their active opportunities together and understand their current fit, deadlines, application stages, critical gaps, preparation effort and cross-job skill overlap, they may be able to allocate their limited preparation time more effectively and decide what to do next.
