Privacy policies are usually a nightmare to read. Pages of legal waffle that cover everyone's back and tell you nothing useful. This one is different. We've written it in plain English so you can actually see what happens to your information when you deal with us.
Here's the short version. We only collect what we need to send you bees, honey, and courses, to email you when you've asked us to, and to keep the website running. We don't sell your data to anyone, and we never will.
Black Mountain Honey Limited (that's us, Laurence and the team) runs this website, and we're the people responsible for your information when you buy from us, sign up to our emails, join our community, or browse the site. We sell physical products, like nucs and honey, through our shop, which runs on WooCommerce. When you place an order, we collect:
We need this to take payment, send your order, and keep you updated. We also keep a record of your orders so we can deal with any questions, refunds, or returns later on.
Our courses and community run on a separate platform called Circle. This covers The 14-Day Beekeeper (14DBK) and HiveQ.
When you buy a course or join HiveQ, Circle sets up your account and stores your name, email address, login details, and your activity inside the course or community, like the lessons you've completed and the posts you make. We use this to give you access, keep your account working, and support you while you learn.
We send our emails through a platform called Kit. When you subscribe, we store your name and email address, along with basic information about which emails you open and click. This helps us send you useful things and stop sending you things you're not interested in.
