Explain2Me ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the Explain2Me app.

What we send and why

When you request an explanation, the content you submit — a photo of a document, text you have typed or pasted, or a voice recording — is sent securely to our server and then to OpenAI's API to generate your explanation. This is necessary for the app to work. We do not store the content of your explanations on our servers. Once OpenAI returns a response, your content is not retained by us. Your explanations are saved locally on your device only, in the app's History. We have no access to your saved history.

What we collect

We collect minimal technical data to operate the service: • A random, anonymous device identifier (generated on first launch, not linked to you or your Apple ID) • Request timestamps and response status — used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention • No names, email addresses, or account information are ever collected

OpenAI

Explanations are processed by OpenAI. OpenAI's use of data submitted via their API is governed by their API data usage policy, which states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models by default. You can review OpenAI's policy at openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Children

Explain2Me is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
