Effective 19 July 2026 · Applies to the doodit iOS app and doodit websites
The short version: doodit shows you what's happening in your city tonight. To do that we use your approximate whereabouts, your plans and check-ins, and — if you're a promoter — the events you post. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
1. Who we are
doodit is operated by Harold Singh, trading as doodit, based in England, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your email address and a password (handled by our authentication provider; we never see your password in plain text), and the username you choose, which appears in the app.
- Your plans and check-ins — events you mark as your plan, venues you check in to (with a timestamp), and optional queue-time reports you submit.
- Promoter content — if you use the promoter tools: your promoter or brand name, event details (title, venue, date and time, postcode, ticket link, event type and entry type) and any banner image you upload. Event information you post is shown publicly in the app.
- Support messages — anything you send us by email.
Information collected when you use the app
- Location — with your permission (via the iOS prompt), your device's precise location while you use the app, to show what's on near you and to verify check-ins at venues. We do not collect location in the background.
- Push notification token — if you allow notifications, a device push token together with your chosen city, so we can send the notifications described in section 6.
- Ticket link taps — when you tap a "Get tickets" link we record that the link for that event was tapped (the event and a timestamp only; this is not linked to your account).
- Basic technical data — the kind any app receives to function, such as device type and app version.
What we don't collect
- No payment card details — promoter payments are made on Stripe's own secure pages; card information goes to Stripe, never to us.
- No contacts, no photos other than images you deliberately upload, no browsing history, no advertising identifiers.
3. How we use it
- To provide doodit: show events in your city, place them on the map, run your plans and check-ins, and display real interest and attendance figures to promoters (as aggregate counts).
