Slingword (the “Service”) treats your personal information with care and complies with applicable data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea.
This policy explains what information the Service processes, for what purpose, how long it is kept, and what rights you can exercise.
Slingword is an app for sending study words to another person and receiving theirs. For that reason this policy covers not only “what the Service collects” but also “what a person you connect with can see.”
The Service has no sign-up process and no login account. It does not collect your name, date of birth, phone number, email address, postal address, or payment information.
The information collected is as follows.

To distinguish users without accounts, the Service uses a randomly generated identifier (UUID) issued by our server.
The Service does not read or store Apple’s Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) or the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). This identifier is meaningful only inside the Service and cannot be linked to your activity in other apps or services.
The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to the Service’s servers. The operator cannot view it.
| Item | Where it is stored |
|---|---|
| Vocabulary lists you created and the words, meanings, examples, memory states, correct and incorrect counts, and favorites inside them | On-device database (SQLite) |
| Headwords you recently sent and the meanings you confirmed at that time | On-device database (SQLite) |
| App settings (theme, typeface, text size, haptics, display language, widget vocabulary lists) | On-device storage |
| Downloaded pronunciation audio files | On-device file storage |
| Study reminder settings (days, time) and the scheduled notifications | On-device storage and iOS local notification schedule |
| Device authentication token | iOS Keychain |
Your device is the source of truth for your vocabulary. What remains on the server is only the items you actually sent to another person and the processing records for those items. Words you add and study alone never leave your device.
The Service does not collect the following.
