Noor is an Islamic companion app for iOS: prayer times, the Qur'an, the qibla, dhikr and a Ramadan companion. This policy describes what the app stores, what leaves the device and what does not.

Noor requires no account and collects no personal data. There is no server behind the app, and no data about its use is received by its developer or by anyone else.

1. What Noor stores on the device

Everything the app records is written to the device it runs on, in the app's own container, and is readable only by the app:

None of it is transmitted anywhere. A backup file exported from Settings is written wherever the person exporting it chooses, and its contents are then in their hands alone.

2. Location

Location access is optional and requested only while the app is in use. Coordinates are used on the device to compute prayer times and the qibla direction, and are never transmitted. Location can be declined: a city may be chosen by hand instead, and every feature except "use my location" continues to work.

3. What Noor does not do

4. Requests the app makes to other services

Two public services are contacted, on demand rather than in the background, and only when a feature that needs them is used. Neither receives an identifier, an account or anything about how the app is used; as with any web request, the operator of the service can see the requesting IP address and the file requested in its own server logs.
