This Privacy Policy explains how TallyBook (also distributed under the Chinese name “菜鸟记账”) handles information when you use the TallyBook mobile application (the “App”). The App is provided by ChengDu Tami Network Technology Co. Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
TallyBook is designed as a local-first personal expense tracker. You do not need to create an account to use the App, and we do not operate a cloud account service for your ledgers.
## 1. Information stored on your device
The App may store the following information locally on your device so that it can provide its bookkeeping features:
- spaces, ledgers, categories, currencies, income and expense entries;
- amounts, dates, notes, and record types you enter;
- receipt or attachment images you choose to add;
- app preferences, including language, theme, commonly used currencies, summary currency, and export settings;
- locally cached reference exchange-rate information; and
- local backup, restore, and legacy-data migration status.
This financial content is processed on your device. We do not send your ledgers, entries, amounts, categories, notes, receipt images, or backup contents to our exchange-rate service or advertising partners.
## 2. Photos and files you choose
If you add a receipt image, the App accesses only the image you select or capture through the relevant system interface. The image is stored with your local App data.
When you create or restore a backup, the App uses the system file service to let you choose where to save a backup or which backup to open. A location offered by the system may include local storage, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, or another installed file provider. TallyBook does not receive or store the username, password, or access token for those services.
A TallyBook backup may contain sensitive financial records and receipt images. You can choose password protection for a backup. Password-protected backups use authenticated encryption. Your backup password is used only for the backup or restore operation and is not stored by the App. You are responsible for protecting backup files after saving or sharing them.
## 3. Reference exchange rates
The App may request a reference exchange-rate snapshot from our HTTPS exchange-rate service. These rates are optional, approximate, and are not used to alter your original entries or official currency-by-currency totals.
The request does not include ledger names, entries, amounts, categories, notes, attachments, backup files, or an App account identifier. As with any internet request, our hosting and network providers necessarily process an IP address and basic request metadata to route the request, protect the service, and diagnose failures. Operational logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security and reliable operation, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
## 4. Advertising
Some versions of the App may display a low-frequency app-open advertisement. Advertising is kept separate from your bookkeeping data and does not change the App’s accounting, backup, restore, or migration features.
Depending on your platform, distribution region, consent choices, and the advertising SDKs included in the version you install, the App may use TradPlus mediation with one or more of the following advertising services:
- Google AdMob;
- Pangle; and
- CSJ (also known as the China-region Pangle or Chuanshanjia service).
Advertising partners may process information such as IP address, advertising or device identifiers, device and operating-system information, app version, network information, approximate location inferred from IP address, consent status, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostics. They may use this information to deliver ads, limit frequency, measure performance, prevent fraud, and, only where permitted by your choices and applicable law, personalize ads.
We do not provide advertising partners with your ledgers, transactions, amounts, notes, categories, receipt images, backup files, selected bookkeeping currencies, or manually chosen app language.
Where required, the App asks for consent before initializing advertising services or requesting personalized advertising. On iOS, the App requests App Tracking Transparency permission only if the included advertising configuration performs tracking as Apple defines that term. Refusing or withdrawing consent does not restrict bookkeeping, statistics, backup, restore, or export features. If an ad is unavailable or consent is not complete, the App continues without blocking access.

The exact partners and data practices may differ between Android distribution packages and the iOS package. We review the disclosures for the actual SDK versions included in each released build.
## 5. Information we do not require
TallyBook does not require an App account, social login, phone number, contact list, precise device location, health data, or payment-card information. The App does not provide automatic cloud synchronization, and our servers do not store your bookkeeping database or backup files.
## 6. How information is used
Information handled by the App is used to:
- create, display, edit, search, summarize, and export your records;
- provide calendar, trend, category, and currency views;
- create, validate, encrypt, restore, and migrate backup data at your request;
- provide optional reference exchange rates;
- remember your local preferences;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose service failures; and
- provide and measure advertising where included and permitted.
We do not sell your bookkeeping records or use their contents to select advertisements.
## 7. Retention and deletion
Your local records remain on your device until you delete them, restore a replacement backup, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App. Files you save outside the App remain in the location you selected until you delete them there.
Local consent and advertising frequency-control settings remain on the device until they expire, you change or withdraw your choice, you clear App data, or you uninstall the App. Advertising partners retain information under their own policies and legal obligations.
Because TallyBook does not create user accounts or upload your bookkeeping database to our servers, there is no server-side TallyBook account or cloud ledger for us to delete. You can delete local records in the App or remove all local App data through your device settings or by uninstalling the App. You must separately delete any backup files you saved to external locations.
## 8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed by the App. Network requests use HTTPS. Password-protected backup files use authenticated encryption and a password-based key derivation method. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so you should use a strong backup password and keep your device and saved files protected.
## 9. International processing
Our hosting, network, and advertising providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live. Where required, processing is subject to applicable safeguards and consent requirements. The availability of particular advertising partners may vary by distribution package and region.
## 10. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- manage advertising consent from the privacy controls provided in the App, where available;
- manage system advertising and tracking choices in iOS or Android settings;
- deny photo access or choose not to attach receipt images;
- use TallyBook without reference exchange rates when offline;
- delete local entries, clear App data, uninstall the App, and delete backup files from their saved locations; and
- contact us about a privacy question or request.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
## 11. Children’s privacy
TallyBook is a general-audience personal finance tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or submit personal information to us. Advertising features, where included, must be configured and used in accordance with applicable age and consent requirements.
## 12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when App features, SDKs, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice when required. The policy published for a released version should always describe the data practices of that version.
