CrimePuzzle has no accounts. You never give us an email address, a password, or a phone number, and there is no sign-in between opening the app and playing.

What leaves your phone is what a leaderboard needs: a random id made on your device the first time you open the app, the name and face you picked, and how long today's case took you. Nothing else.

01. Who this is about?

CrimePuzzle, the Android app published as com.crimepuzzle.app. Written and run by one developer, who can be reached at [email protected].

02. What stays on your phone

Most of what the app knows about you never goes anywhere. Your progress through the forty cases, your best times, your hint balance, your sound and vibration settings, and a local copy of the daily case are stored on the device and are deleted with the app.

03. What is sent to the server

Only the daily case and its leaderboard talk to a server. That server is Supabase, in their Tokyo region, and what reaches it is:

An install id A random string generated on your device the first time the app opens. It is not your advertising id, not your device id, and not derived from anything about your phone. It names one install to one row on a leaderboard, and a fresh install makes a fresh one.
Your name The one you type in the app. It defaults to "Detective" and is shown to other players on the daily leaderboard, so treat it as public. You can change it at any time.
Your face Which of the six suspects you picked as an avatar.
Your daily runs Which day's case you opened, and how long you took to solve it. This is the leaderboard.

If you never open a daily case, none of this is sent.

04. What is never collected

No email address, password, phone number, contacts, calendar, location, photos, files, microphone, camera, installed-app list, or precise device identifier. There is no third-party analytics or tracking SDK in the app.

05. Advertisements

Hints can be earned by watching a short video, supplied by Google AdMob. An ad plays only when you tap the button that asks for one — there are no banners and nothing plays on its own.

AdMob may use your device's advertising id to choose and measure ads. That id belongs to Android, not to us: you can reset it or turn off personalised advertising in Settings → Google → Ads on your phone, and the app keeps working either way. We never see it.

06. Purchases

Hint packs are sold through Google Play. Google handles the entire transaction and tells the app only whether a purchase completed. Your card details, billing address and Google account never reach us and we could not see them if we wanted to.

07. Children

CrimePuzzle is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to [email protected] and it will be deleted.
