Old Internet (“the extension”) is a browser extension that replaces the modern X (formerly Twitter) web interface with a classic, retro layout. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information.

Summary

Old Internet runs entirely on your device, inside your browser. It does not collect, store on our servers, transmit to us, sell, or share your personal data with anyone. We do not operate any server that receives your data, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we do not show ads.

What the extension accesses, and why

To rebuild the classic interface, the extension works with your existing, already-signed-in X/Twitter session:

• It reads and renders your own timeline, profile, tweets, notifications, lists, bookmarks, and related content from x.com / twitter.com so it can display them in the classic layout.
• These requests go directly between your browser and X’s own servers, using the login session you already have with X. Your use of X remains governed by X’s own Privacy Policy. The extension is not the recipient of this data — it only formats and displays it for you.

The extension does not send any of this content, your credentials, or your activity to the developer or to any third party.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following locally on your device only, using the browser’s chrome.storage API:

• Your settings and preferences (for example, whether the classic layout is enabled, and display options).
• Cached interface data to make the classic UI load quickly.

This local data never leaves your device. You can remove all of it at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension’s storage in your browser.

What we do not do

• We do not collect personally identifiable information.
• We do not collect authentication credentials. Your X login is handled by X, not by us.
• We do not track your browsing, clicks, or activity.
• We do not use cookies for tracking.
• We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties.
