Quietline for Google Meet ("the extension") does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data with the developer or any third party. All data handled by the extension stays on the user's device. The extension makes no network requests at all — it has no servers, analytics, or telemetry.
https://meet.google.com/*: speaker display names and caption text of the call participants. The extension reads them only while the user is recording — after the user presses "Record captions" and until they press "Stop".The extension does not record audio or video, and does not access any site other than meet.google.com.
While a recording is in progress, captured captions are kept only in the memory of the Meet tab. When the user presses "Stop", the transcript is saved using chrome.storage.local (device-only, not synced):
gmcTranscripts — the list of saved transcripts: id, creation time, meeting name, meeting code, number of lines, and text size.gmcTranscript_<id> — the transcript text (Speaker: text per line), including speaker display names.gmcHideCaptions — the user's setting: whether to hide Meet's captions panel while recording.gmcCaptionLang — the user's setting: the captions language code to select in Meet (for example ru-RU), or empty to leave Meet's language unchanged. This data is never transmitted to the developer or any third party. It stays until the user deletes it in the extension's transcripts tab ("Delete" or "Delete all") or removes the extension.
Transcripts leave the extension only by an explicit user action: copying one to the clipboard, or downloading it as a .txt or .md file. These files are created entirely on the user's device. Once copied or downloaded, the transcript is outside the extension's control — the user decides where to store or share it.
