Effective October 5, 2026
Subscription Manager is an iPhone app that helps you keep track of your subscriptions and recurring bills. It is made by Maxim Melnik ("I", "me"). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and what you can do about it.
In short
- No account, no sign-in, no bank connection. You type your subscriptions in yourself.
- Your subscriptions, amounts, notes and settings stay on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. I can't see them.
- The app sends anonymous usage statistics so I can see which features are used. They never include the names, amounts, notes or payment methods you enter, and you can switch them off.
- Purchases go through Apple. I never see your card or your Apple Account details.
- No ads, no tracking across other apps and websites, no selling of data.
Who is responsible
Maxim Melnik, the developer of Subscription Manager, is responsible for the processing described here (the "controller" under the GDPR). Contact: [email protected].
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you put into the app stays on your iPhone:
- the subscriptions you add: names, amounts, currencies, billing dates and cycles, free-trial dates, categories, payment method labels and notes;
- price history, your monthly spending limit and your settings.
Reminders are scheduled by iOS on your iPhone, and their text is written on the device. Widgets read the same data on the device. None of this is sent to me.
iCloud sync
If iCloud is on for your Apple Account, the app keeps a copy of this data in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). That is how it syncs between your devices and comes back after you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone. This storage belongs to your Apple Account and I have no access to it. Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the app is used and what to improve, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google. It receives:
- Events about using the app. Screens and tabs opened. Onboarding steps and the answers you pick there. When a subscription is added, edited, paused, cancelled or deleted. Which service from the built-in list was chosen (for example "Netflix") or simply "other", its category and whether it is a free trial. The billing cycle and the currency code. How many reminders are scheduled, which kind of reminder was opened, and whether notifications were allowed. Paywall views, and purchases started, completed, failed or restored.
