TinyShield hides faces in your photos and videos entirely on your device. Privacy isn't a setting here — it's the product. Your media and the faces in it never leave your iPhone. In one line We do not upload, store, sell, or share your photos, videos, or faces. There is no account and no cross-app tracking.
What we process on your device • Photos & videos you choose are read into the app, processed on-device (face detection, tracking, and permanent covering), and written to a temporary file you can save or share. They are never sent to us or any third party. • Faces and face geometry are computed locally using Apple's on-device Vision framework and are never transmitted or persisted beyond the temporary working file. • Photos access is requested as add-only — solely so we can save your redacted result back to your library. We never read your library.
What leaves the device (and what doesn't) TinyShield makes no network requests with your media. The only network communication the app can make is: • Purchases — handled anonymously through Apple's App Store and our payments provider (RevenueCat). No personal identifiers are attached. • Anonymous, content-free analytics — if enabled, the app may send anonymous app-usage counters (e.g. "an export was saved") via TelemetryDeck (EU-based, no advertising identifiers). These signals never contain media, faces, identity, file names, or locations. Analytics is off by default and sends nothing unless you opt in. • Crash & performance diagnostics — collected on-device via Apple MetricKit and not sent to any third party.
What we never do • No advertising identifier (IDFA), no App Tracking Transparency prompt, no cross-app or cross-site tracking. • No selling or sharing of personal data. No user accounts.
What an export does — and its limits Exports have their EXIF/GPS metadata and container creation date/device/location removed, and the covered faces are destroyed irreversibly. TinyShield hides faces only. Audio, reflections, backgrounds, tattoos, clothing, and other identifying details remain. Removing faces does not make content "safe to post publicly" — please use your judgment.
Children TinyShield is a tool for adults (typically parents) to redact media before sharing. It is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
Your choices • You control which photos/videos the app sees, one selection at a time. • You control analytics consent (off by default). • You can revoke Photos access any time in iOS Settings.
Changes If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and post the new version here.
