CommunityCatz is a community tool for tracking, feeding, and coordinating TNR care for community cats. This policy explains how we handle information collected through the app.

Information We Collect CommunityCatz collects information you provide directly, including your display name, zip code, email address, cat photos you upload, and notes you write. We also collect your device's location when you use the map or log a cat sighting. Email and password are collected when you create an account and are stored securely through our authentication provider, Supabase.

How We Use Your Information Your information is used solely to operate the CommunityCatz community map, showing nearby cats, coordinating TNR efforts, and tracking colony care. Your email address is used to authenticate your account and, in the future, to send you notifications about activity in your colony. We do not use your data for advertising.

Photos Photos you upload of cats are stored securely and displayed publicly on the community map. Do not upload photos of people or content unrelated to community cats.

Location Location is used to show you nearby cats and to pin sightings accurately on the map. Location data is stored with each cat sighting you log.

Data Sharing Cat sightings, profiles, and colony information are shared publicly within the app so the community can coordinate care. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Retention Cat profiles and sightings remain in the app to benefit the community. You may request deletion of your account and any content you submitted by contacting us at the address below. Account deletion will remove your email address and profile from our systems.

Children's Privacy CommunityCatz is not directed at children under 9. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 9.

Accounts and Identifiers CommunityCatz assigns each user an account ID via Supabase to associate your cat sightings and contributions with your session. Users who create an account with an email address will have that email linked to their account ID. Users who do not create an account are assigned an anonymous ID that is not linked to any personal information.

Diagnostics CommunityCatz uses Sentry to collect crash reports and performance data. This includes crash logs and app launch diagnostics used solely to identify and fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included in diagnostic reports.
